Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Karli Cox and Natalie Derr Lead Mckinley to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Girard, McKinley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Harding Raiders. The win was some much needed relief for the Red Dragons as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

McKinley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-17.

McKinley was led to victory by Natalie Derr and Karli Cox. Derr had ten digs, while Cox had eight digs. That's the most digs Derr has posted over her last four matchups.

Despite the loss, Harding still got an impressive performance from Alaina Wagner, who had 19 digs and 16 assists. Another player making a difference was Victoria Mitchell, who had 15 digs and one assist.

McKinley's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Harding, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

McKinley has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Hubbard on the 18th. As for Harding, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Canfield on the 18th.
