Briar Woods is a perfect 3-0 against Loudoun County since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Captains at 6:30 p.m. Loudoun County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Briar Woods, who comes in off a win.

Briar Woods' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Westfield with a sharp 11-0 victory. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Loudoun County and Tuscarora, and Tuscarora kept the tradition alive. The Captains fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. The loss was the Captains' first of the season.

Jacob Martin was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Shaw, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Loudoun County fell to 3-1. As for Briar Woods, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Briar Woods beat Loudoun County 8-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Captains have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
