Baseball Recap: Potomac School Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Potomac School dropped their record down to 11-9 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 10-0 to the Highland Hawks. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Highland, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Highland's part, Matthew McCauley looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. McCauley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Danny Farrell was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Summers, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Looking ahead, Potomac School will square off against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Highland, they are taking a road trip to challenge Atlantic Shores Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 2.8, the Seahawks 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
