Softball Recap: Chilton County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of 12 wins, Chilton County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Calera Eagles by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 11-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ishunti Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last 12 contests.

Chilton County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4-1. As for Calera, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-12.

Chilton County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pelham at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st. As for Calera, they will square off against Leeds at 5:55 p.m. on March 28th.
