It's playoff time, and Springfield Township had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Interboro Buccaneers on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-3 win. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Nolan Kidwell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mike Capoferri, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Sokel, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Springfield Township always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Interboro only posted an OBP of .276.

Springfield Township's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Interboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Springfield Township will take on Pope John Paul II at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.2, Pope John Paul II 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Interboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
