Basketball Recap: Honaker Takes a Loss

Honaker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 99-39 loss at the hands of the Patrick Henry Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Rebels are ranked 109th).

It was another big night for Cole Caywood, who dropped a double-double on 50 points and ten boards for Patrick Henry. The matchup was Caywood's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Cade Caywood was another key player, going 8 of 13 en route to 21 points and six rebounds.

Honaker's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Patrick Henry, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Honaker Tigers face off against the Northwood Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Patrick Henry has already played their next game, a 62-38 loss against Abingdon on the 5th.
