Baseball Recap: Piper Extends Winning Streak to Four

Piper waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Turner Golden Bears. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.

Blake Wiss looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Piper let Mason Porter and Connor Musil run wild. Porter went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Musil went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Musil has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Simons, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Piper hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turner struck out 12 times.

Piper's record now sits at 16-6. As for Turner, they dropped their record down to 2-18 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Coming up, Piper will welcome St. James Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunder have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. Turner will be paying especially close attention to Piper's game: after Piper faces off against St. James Academy, they'll take on Turner again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
