Basketball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

If Liberty was riding high fresh off their 40-19 takedown of Lebanon Trail on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redhawks took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centennial Titans on Friday. The Redhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Liberty dropped their record down to 5-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Centennial, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Heritage at 5:45 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Centennial, they will finish 2025 at home by hosting North Garland at 10:00 a.m. on the 29th.
