Basketball Recap: Kegan Ellis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Andrews over Robbinsville

After flying high against Tuscola last Wednesday, Andrews came back down to earth. The Andrews Wildcats fell 56-46 to the Robbinsville Black Knights on Friday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Black Knights earlier this season, when they won 51-48.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kegan Ellis, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points. The game was Ellis' sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Braxton Rickett was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Robbinsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dane Knott, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points. Knott is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Adams, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Andrews' defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Robbinsville, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Andrews wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-45 victory against Murphy on the 4th. As for Robbinsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-24 win against Summit Charter on the 3rd.
