Softball Recap: Tulare Union Comes Up Short

Tulare Union dropped down to 5-11 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Selma Bears by a score of 2-1. If the Tribe were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Bears when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tulare Union saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaksyn Freitas, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

As for Selma, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

On Selma's side, Dalilah Anes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Anes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Tulare Union didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against Justin Garza on the 8th. As for Selma, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Monache on the 28th.
