Baseball Recap: Coconino Comes Up Short

Coconino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Prescott Badgers, falling 15-3. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 19, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Coconino saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Connor Allen also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Coconino's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Prescott, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Coconino will face off against rival Mohave at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Prescott is set to square off against their familiar foe Bradshaw Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
