Baseball Recap: New Richmond Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

New Richmond dropped their record down to 13-2 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 17-7 to the Somerset Spartans. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Somerset, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Somerset's part, Nolan Teske was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Teske continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Carson Belisle was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Richmond will welcome Hudson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.6, the Raiders 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Somerset, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Altoona at 5:00 p.m.
