Volleyball Recap: Colonial Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Colonial Christian waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Suburban Christian Crusaders with a sharp 3-0 win. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Crusaders, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Colonial Christian was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-8, 25-13.

Kate Minton paced Colonial Christian's offense, picking up 13 kills. Minton were helped by Stinna Grubb and Livi Byrd, who contributed eight assists each. Cosette Castillo controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Colonial Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Suburban Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colonial Christian will host Calvary Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Suburban Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on First Baptist Christian at 6:15 p.m. on the 17th.
