Softball Recap: East Surry Cardinals vs. Surry Central Golden Eagles        
        
		
            
 East Surry was the  13-5 winner over Surry Central when they last played one another  back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The East Surry Cardinals took  a  4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Surry Central Golden Eagles on Thursday. East Surry has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 For Surry Central's part,  Ragan Hall tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run over five innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Clara Brooks was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kailei Zurita, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 East Surry's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Surry Central, their victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 3-5.
 While East Surry had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
