Softball Recap: Van Nuys Has No Trouble Against Grant

Van Nuys's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Grant Lancers 32-9. That looming 32-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wolves yet this season.

Van Nuys got a massive performance out of Nadia Ubaldo, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Ubaldo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Espinoza, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs.

Van Nuys lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Van Nuys' record now sits at 9-10. As for Grant, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Van Nuys will take on Monroe at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.79 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Grant, they will square off against Sherman Oaks CES at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight.
