Recap: Notre Dame Catholic Lancers vs. Brookfield Bobcats
The Notre Dame Catholic Lancers lost against the Brookfield Bobcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Notre Dame Catholic took a hard 50-35 fall against Brookfield.
Notre Dame Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Gibbs, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Gibbs hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sara Despeignes, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Notre Dame Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Notre Dame Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Brookfield, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Catholic will take on Weston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brookfield, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Kolbe-Cathedral at 7:00 p.m.
