Baseball Recap: St. Catherine's Comes Up Short

St. Catherine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 35-1 to the St. Joseph Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 on Tuesday.

St. Catherine's saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Avila, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Avila has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

St. Catherine's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for St. Joseph, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, St. Catherine's will venture away from home to face off against Kenosha Bradford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Joseph, they will host Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
