Softball Recap: Fremont Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Fremont won the last time they faced Farmington and things went their way on Thursday too. The Silverwolves walked away with an 18-14 win over the Phoenix. The game was the first time the Silverwolves have beaten the Phoenix on their field since March 24, 2022.

Fremont got a massive performance out of Jessica Broadbent, who went 2-for-5 with seven RBI and one double. Those seven RBI gave Broadbent a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Saige Steele, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 15 hits in five consecutive matches.

Fremont has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Farmington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fremont will venture away from home to take on West Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Silverwolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Farmington, they will head out to face off against Weber at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
