Baseball Recap: Tulelake's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Tulelake came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Dunsmuir Tigers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. With that victory, the Honkers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jason Orr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Orr wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Larsen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Tulelake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .522 or higher in five consecutive contests.

The win got Tulelake back to even at 4-4. As for Dunsmuir, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
