Basketball Recap: Lucas Comes Up Short

Lucas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Highland Fighting Scots 61-29. The contest marked the Cubs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Lucas had strong showings from Robert Grover, who posted five points and five rebounds, and Anthony Fanello, who put up ten points and five rebounds. Grover is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Jakai Wilson went supernova for Highland, going 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points. Wilson is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Toby Rogers, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points.

Lucas' loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Highland, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Lucas will welcome Mansfield Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Highland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-53 defeat against Shelby on the 17th.
