Softball Recap: Marin Catholic Snags 12th Victory in Last 15 Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Rafael, Marin Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons. Considering the Wildcats have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Malliah Foster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Selena Pe?a was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Held, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Marin Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archie Williams only posted a batting average of .091.

Marin Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Archie Williams, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-7 record this season.

Marin Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Archie Williams, they will face off against Tamalpais at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Peregrine Falcons are facing the Red Tailed Hawks at the right time seeing as the Red Tailed Hawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
