Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Mater Dei's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Mater Dei rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Woodbridge Warriors as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Mater Dei not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Woodbridge between 16 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-16.

Jeremiah Potasi paced Mater Dei's offense, picking up 11 kills. Potasi got some help from Jake Newman and his 34 assists. Potasi was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Mater Dei has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-12-2 record this season. As for Woodbridge, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-11.

Mater Dei didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Edison on the 6th. Woodbridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
