Junipero Serra has gone a perfect 5-0 against Sacred Heart Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Junipero Serra Padres will square off against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Junipero Serra had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Menlo School by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday.

Kelley Crawford looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Tyler Harrison was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Jack Wessell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Scotts Valley. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Gators as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Thomas Moldow, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Everything went Junipero Serra's way against Sacred Heart Prep in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Junipero Serra made off with a 14-1 win.
