Baseball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Lake Highland Prep and Trinity Prep, and Trinity Prep kept the tradition alive. The Highlanders fell just short of the Saints by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 two weeks ago.

Landon Towns was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Lake Highland Prep: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-12 otherwise. Manny Socarras was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lake Highland Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Trinity Prep, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.
