Florida Top 25 high school football scores: No. 2 St. Thomas Aquinas shuts out previously unbeaten Plantation

Anthony Hankerson rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Zion Turner accounted for two scores as No. 2 team in Florida, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), breezed to a 35-0 win over Plantation to highlight the Florida Top 25 football roundup on Friday night.

Turner scored on a 12-yard run and hooked up with Jahvante Royal on an 8-yard touchdown, while Hankerson has rushed for TDs of 8 and 32 yards. Travis Dixon closed out the scoring with a 13-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter for the Raiders, who are ranked ninth nationally by MaxPreps. They improved to 6-0.

Plantation dropped to 6-1.

Shutouts were the order of the day in the Top 25, as no less than 10 recorded them in winning efforts.



Besides Aquinas, No. 3 Northwestern (59-0), No. 5 Edgewater (56-0), No. 6 Armwood (22-0), seventh-ranked Lakeland (27-0), No. 10 Palmetto (34-0) and No. 12 Jones (54-0) all pulled off shutouts.

Top-ranked IMG Academy got a pick six from Jordan Butler and DJ Boney ran for two scores and passed for another in a 43-16 win over Life Christian.
