Softball Game Preview: Banning Pilots vs. Rancho Dominguez Lobos

Banning is a perfect 8-0 against Rancho Dominguez since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Pilots will be playing at home against the Lobos at 3:15 p.m. Banning has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Banning is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering South just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 16-15.

Kali Sue was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-6. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joliene Pina, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base.

Rancho Dominguez had taken Narbonne down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Lobos came up short against the Gauchos, falling 22-5.

Banning's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Rancho Dominguez, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Everything went Banning's way against Rancho Dominguez in their previous matchup back in April, as Banning made off with a 21-0 victory. Do the Pilots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lobos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
