Baseball Game Preview: Concord Academy Eagles vs. Lee Park Prep Knights

The Concord Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Lee Park Prep Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Concord Academy nor Lee Park Prep posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Concord Academy lost 7-1 to Cannon on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Concord Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gray Madeira, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That hit marked the first that Madeira got this season.

Meanwhile, Lee Park Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-1 to Forest Hills.

Concord Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lee Park Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Concord Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lee Park Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Everything went Concord Academy's way against Lee Park Prep in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, as Concord Academy made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Concord Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
