Volleyball Recap: West Holmes Comes Up Short

West Holmes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Dover Crimson Tornadoes, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crimson Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-11, 25-7.

Mallory Marmet paced West Holmes' offense, picking up six kills. Marmet were helped by Lena Burgett and Camrie Wilson, who contributed five assists each. Matilyn Fair controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

West Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Dover, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Holmes is set to face off against their familiar foe Madison Comprehensive at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Dover will challenge rival Lexington at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
