Softball Recap: Leonard Comes Up Short

Leonard suffered their biggest loss since February 20th on Monday. They lost 18-8 to the Suncoast Chargers. The defeat continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Faith Yool and Meghan Stimson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Yool scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Stimson scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Dayanara Gonzalez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Leonard's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Suncoast, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Leonard will head out to take on Atlantic Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Suncoast, they will welcome Glades Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
