Softball Recap: Ouachita Parish's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Ouachita Parish unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 15-11 to the West Monroe Rebels. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Journee Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Malayah Vaughn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Ouachita Parish was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. This was only their first loss (out of ten games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Ouachita Parish's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for West Monroe, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Ouachita Parish Lions duke it out with Ruston Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ouachita Parish is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season. As for West Monroe, they are taking a road trip to face off against Alexandria at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Alexandria will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something West Monroe surely won't give up without a fight.
