Basketball Recap: Rio Linda Takes a Loss

Rio Linda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 73-52 to the Lincoln Fighting Zebras. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Fighting Zebras from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Triton Cox continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lincoln, going 12 of 16 on his way to 34 points and five steals. Those 34 points gave Cox a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Neely, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points along with seven boards and six assists.

Rio Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lincoln, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Rio Linda didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-40 loss against Bear River on the 20th. As for Lincoln, they will take on Mesa Verde in a tournament on Thursday. Lincoln has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three matches.
