Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Credo

Credo won the last time they faced Calistoga and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Gryphon were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Wildcats. The Gryphon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Thadeus Cole made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 15 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has become a key player for Credo: the team is 7-3 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. Cole was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Credo got a massive performance out of Henry Humphreys, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The Gryphon are undefeated when Humphreys posts three or more hits, but 7-11 otherwise. Jude Pond was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Credo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in three consecutive games.

Credo's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Calistoga, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Credo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calistoga, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-3 win against Technology on the 16th.
