Baseball Recap: New Castle Takes a Loss

West Allegheny hit New Castle with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hurricanes took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. The defeat continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost eight in a row.

Dominic Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

New Castle's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for West Allegheny, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Castle will face off against Ellwood City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolverine's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Hurricanes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Allegheny, they will host Chartiers Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
