Baseball Game Preview: Hays Hawks vs. McCallum Knights

The Hays Hawks will square off against the McCallum Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. McCallum took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hays, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Hays got the win against Lockhart by a conclusive 14-7. Considering the Hawks have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, McCallum's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Anderson by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hays has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for McCallum, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-9-1.
