Baseball Recap: White Bear Lake's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

White Bear Lake dropped their record down to 10-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Stillwater Ponies by a score of 5-4. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ponies earlier this season, when they won 8-1.

As for Stillwater, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For Stillwater's part, they got a great performance from Dylan Bloom as he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Jack Runk was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Brennan Peterson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI.
