Baseball Game Preview: Somerset Briar Jumpers vs. Boyle County Rebels

The Somerset Briar Jumpers will head out on the road to challenge the Boyle County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Somerset is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Russell County on Thursday. They lost 15-1 to the Lakers. The Briar Jumpers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, while Boyle County put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Danville. The Rebels blew past the Admirals 11-0. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Admirals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Kyler Claunch was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Boyle County is 6-1 when Claunch posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Logan Perry was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Somerset's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Boyle County, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
