Basketball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Academy Triumphs

Thomas Jefferson Academy won the last time they faced Covenant Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars came out on top against the Covenant Academy Rams by a score of 58-49. The Jaguars didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Covenant Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben McGhee, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. Ryan Stevens was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to ten boards and seven blocks.

Thomas Jefferson Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Covenant Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10.

Thomas Jefferson Academy has already played their next matchup, a 65-56 victory against David Emanuel Academy on the 27th. As for Covenant Academy, they will welcome Central Georgia Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Academy is facing Central Georgia Arts at the right time seeing as Central Georgia Arts is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
