Baseball Recap: Hempfield Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hempfield can now relate to. They fell 4-1 to the Hazleton Area Cougars on Monday. The matchup marked the Black Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hempfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Katch, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Hempfield's defeat dropped their record down to 23-2. As for Hazleton Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Hempfield nor Hazleton Area have any future games scheduled.
