Brookings is a perfect 3-0 against Roosevelt since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Rough Riders at 6:00 p.m. Brookings has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brookings is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Jefferson, who was ranked first at the time (Brookings was ranked 22nd). The Bobcats took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers on Monday. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Arrows as they made off with an 11-1 win.

The team relied heavily on Raelyn Sieler, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Rylinne DeVries was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in six consecutive games.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Brookings, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Brookings got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Roosevelt by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
