Basketball Recap: Elton James' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Winston Salem Christian National over Bishop Ireton

Winston Salem Christian National has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 75-72 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Ireton Cardinals. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (63), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elton James, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenyon St.Louis, who scored 17 points.

Winston Salem Christian National's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
