Recap: Mica Mountain Thunderbolts vs. Sahuaro Cougars

There's no place like home for The Mica Mountain Thunderbolts, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They breezed by Sahuaro at home to the tune of 55-20. The result was nothing new for Mica Mountain, who have now won five games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Among those leading the charge was Jayden Thoreson, who threw for 137 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Perry, who rushed for 109 yards on only six carries.

Despite the loss, Sahuaro still got an impressive performance from Jailen Clark, who rushed for 127 yards on only 12 carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Vinny Orlando, who picked up 57 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Sahuaro's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Dallas Castaneda and his two sacks.

Mica Mountain's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for Sahuaro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Mica Mountain will look to defend their home field on Friday against Walden Grove at 7:00 p.m. Sahuaro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
