Basketball Recap: St. Agnes Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Collierville, St. Agnes Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Briarcrest Christian Saints 54-51. The win was some much needed relief for the Stars as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Briarcrest Christian lost, don't look at Clara Moore. Despite the final result, she went 7 for 12 on her way to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Moore has posted since back in November of 2024. Ellen Adair was another key player, putting up 11 points.

St. Agnes Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Briarcrest Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

St. Agnes Academy has already played their next match (against Manassas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Briarcrest Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-15 win against Sheffield on the 18th.
