Basketball Recap: Lincoln Konrad's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Holt over Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, West Holt couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats on Saturday. The Huskies have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

West Holt lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lincoln Konrad, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times he's played. Zach Hooey was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Preston Hoke, who posted 14 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. That's the most steals Hoke has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Schindler, who scored eight points along with eight boards and five assists.

West Holt's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], their win bumped their record up to 25-4.
