Softball Recap: Pueblo East Eagles vs. Doherty Spartans

Pueblo East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Doherty Spartans, falling 18-3.

Devin Dalton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Emilee Hutchings, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a double.

Pueblo East's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Doherty, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-13.

Pueblo East will play host again on Saturday to welcome Kennedy, where first pitch is scheduled at 12:00 p.m. Pueblo East has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Doherty, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Vista Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Doherty will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
