Baseball Game Preview: Bishop DuBourg Cavaliers vs. St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots

The Bishop DuBourg Cavaliers will venture away from home to square off against the St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bishop DuBourg took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against St. Mary's, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cavaliers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dragons on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4.

St. Louis HomeSchool P never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hermann on Tuesday. They blew past the Bearcats 13-1. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Soren Johnson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Camden Rodriguez and Vinny Tornatore did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Tornatore got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Tornatore has posted since back in March. Noah Jung also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

St. Louis HomeSchool P kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Bishop DuBourg back to even at 3-3. As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, their record is now 14-12.
