Basketball Recap: Foster Black's Big Game Can't Quite Lead White Deer over Fort Elliott

White Deer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Elliott Cougars. The Bucks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Several Bucks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Foster Black, who posted 12 points and three steals. Black continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braxton Brown, who put up ten points and seven boards.

White Deer's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Fort Elliott, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, White Deer will challenge Sanford-Fritch at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Elliott, they will take on Panhandle Christian Home Educators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
