Softball Preview: Bentworth Bearcats vs. Burgettstown Blue Devils

The Bentworth Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Burgettstown Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bentworth is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

Bentworth can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They never let Charleroi onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Bentworth.

Sydney Gonglik made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Gonglik has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Gonglik was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Kyleigh Glaze was excellent, going 2-for-4 with a home run. Sofia Gaussa was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Burgettstown lost a close one when they played back in March but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on back in March was a bit more commanding. They suffered a tough 13-3 defeat at the hands of Charleroi.

Bentworth has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Burgettstown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
