Basketball Recap: Denver Jewish Day Starts Season with Victory Against Vanguard Classical East + How To Watch

Denver Jewish Day took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-60 victory over the Vanguard Classical East Hawks.

Denver Jewish Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Solly Bielsky led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 27 points and nine boards. Bielsky has been hot recently, having posted 25 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ronen Trujillo, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 22 points and six steals.

Despite the defeat, Vanguard Classical East saw an underclassman step up: freshman James Coleman posted 31 points. DeKimbae High was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Coming up, Denver Jewish Day will be taking part in a tournament against University at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vanguard Classical East, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Beth Eden Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
