Baseball Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons. If the Hurricanes were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Falcons when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hector Steinfeldt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Coltin Groth, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houston will host Schaeffer Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, they will welcome Fillmore Central/Lanesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
