Pearce came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Nimitz Vikings as they made off with a 21-10 victory. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 6-3 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Pearce got a massive performance out of Natalia Urquidi, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Urquidi a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Yarbrough, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Urquidi wasn't the only one making solid contact: Pearce kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for the Mustangs: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 15.2.

Pearce pushed their record up to 11-12-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Nimitz, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Pearce will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
